Switching is the hard part. It should not be.

Moving your association off MemberClicks

Your roster, member types, renewal dates, and giving history come with you. Here is exactly which exports to run and where each one lands.

Before you start

MemberClicks is an association management system, so most of your data is members, with money second. That means the move is two exports, not one, and the roster goes first.

Everything below uses plain CSV files you already have the right to export. Nothing here needs a partnership, an API key, or help from your current vendor.

You do not have to match our column names. Every import shows a mapping screen listing your own column headers with a sample of the data in each one. We pre-fill what we recognise, and you correct anything we guessed wrong before a single record is written.

Step 1. Export your people

  1. In MemberClicks, open Profile List.
  2. Select the profiles you want to bring over.
  3. Choose Actions, then Export Profiles.
  4. Go to Reporting, then Exports, and click DOWNLOAD FILE to get the CSV.

Keep these columns

First Name, Last Name, Organization, Email Primary, Member Type, and Expiration Date. Also keep Profile ID if you plan to bring giving history across, because that is the column linking a payment back to the right person.

Step 2. Export your money

  1. Open Financial, then Transaction Report.
  2. Set the date range you want. Most organizations bring two to three years.
  3. Export to CSV.
That report also offers IIF. That format is for QuickBooks Desktop and we cannot read it. Choose CSV.

Step 3. What lands where

Your exportWhere it goesWhat you get
Profile List exportMembership app, Import CSVYour roster. Member Type becomes your membership level, Expiration Date becomes the renewal date, and First Name and Last Name join into one name.
Profile List exportDonor Management, Import from another CRMThe same people as donor records, so giving history has somewhere to attach.
Transaction Report exportDonor Management, the same wizardPayment history linked to each person by Profile ID, with Revenue Account becoming the fund.

In the Donor Management wizard, pick MemberClicks from the list of systems and it walks you through both files.

What to expect

Custom fields

MemberClicks lets every organization add its own attributes, so no two exports look alike. That is exactly why the mapping screen exists. Anything we do not recognise is left for you to point at the right field, or to ignore.

Importing twice is safe

Records are matched by email address, so running an import again updates the people already there instead of creating duplicates. Bring a small test batch first, check it, then bring the rest.

Events

Event history is not part of this move yet. Roster and money come first, because those are the ones you cannot rebuild by hand.

Cost

MemberClicks pricing is quote-based, so the only honest comparison is against the renewal figure on your own invoice. Ours is public on the pricing page, with no per-member tiering.

Try it with your own export first

Run the Profile List export, upload it, and look at the mapping screen before you commit to anything.
