Before you start, you will need:

Use real information where you can; every record you create here is a working record you keep.

Everything tax-related in this walkthrough is educational. The platform structures, calculates, and documents; your CPA or attorney confirms the specifics before anything is filed.

Part 1. Tell the platform who you are

1.1
Sign in at app.allinonenonprofit.com and open your My apps portal. You should see: your app portal with your organization name (if your account belongs to more than one organization, a dropdown next to your email switches between them, and every app follows your choice) at the top.
1.2
Complete the Organization type card. Open My Organization and answer the two questions: what kind of organization you are, and how the IRS classifies you.You should see: the answers save once, and every app reads them from here so you are never asked twice.
1.3
Check the vocabulary presets. If you are a booster club, PTA, HOA, sports league, or alumni association, pick your preset (or adjust any single term). You should see: the platform speaks your language in every app; only displayed words change, exports keep standard names.
1.4
Upload your letterhead and a signature on the same page. You should see: any generated letter or report comes out on your letterhead with a real signature block.

Part 2. Formation and IRS tools

2.1
Open the classification helper. In the Nonprofit Formation Assistant, click "Help me choose" under foundation classification and answer the funding-mix questions. You should see: a suggested classification with the reasoning written out, not just a label.
2.2
Check the Form 1023 recommendation. In the IRS Forms app, walk the 1023 eligibility questions. You should see: a clear answer on whether you can use the streamlined 1023-EZ or need the full 1023, with the reasons.
2.3
Check your 990 answer. In the Form 990 tool, confirm your tax-exempt status selection. You should see: the correct annual return for your size and classification (990-N, 990-EZ, or 990), matched to your gross receipts.

Part 3. Compliance calendar

3.1
Review your filings list in the Compliance Tracker. You should see: only the filings your organization actually owes, based on the classification you set in Part 1, each with a real due date.
3.2
Subscribe to the calendar feed (Google, Apple, or Outlook) and turn on the weekly digest. You should see: your deadlines appear in the calendar you actually look at.

Part 4. Board and governance

4.1
Enter one board member (yourself is fine) in Board Management. You should see: the roster entry with role and term, and sign-off requests will go to this address.
4.2
Run a resolution end to end. Draft a test resolution on the Resolutions page, send it to yourself as the only signer, and sign from the email link. You should see: your signature recorded with date, time, and IP, and the adopted resolution filed automatically in your Document Library.
4.3
Upload a founding document (articles or bylaws) to the Document Library. You should see: the document stored in your per-organization vault, findable from every app.
4.4
Send yourself a conflict of interest disclosure from the board tools. You should see: the disclosure workflow completes and the signed form files itself.

Part 5. People

5.1
Add an employee or contractor in the HR Management app.You should see: the record saves and the payroll compliance checklist reflects your organization type.
5.2
Run the Total Compensation Analysis for that person (Tools section). You should see: benefits, employer taxes, total cost, and a loading factor. If you are a 501(c)(3), FUTA shows $0 with the legal citation, matching the payroll checklist.
5.3
Add a volunteer in Volunteer Management. You should see: the volunteer on your roster, ready for hours, schedules, and credentials.

Part 6. Donors and gifts

6.1
Add a donor and log a gift in Donor Management. You should see: the gift on the donor record with running totals.
6.2
Generate a thank-you letter for that gift. You should see: an IRS-compliant acknowledgment on your letterhead, ready to send.
6.3
Record a restricted gift. Log a gift with a restricted designation (for example, Building fund), then run the accounting export. You should see: the export carries a Restriction column with the net-asset class, so it imports into QuickBooks, Xero, or Aplos without re-keying.
6.4
Preview the CRM import. Open Import from another CRM and download the sample CSV.You should see: a mapping screen that reads your column headers, so switching from Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Neon, Little Green Light, Kindful, or a spreadsheet is a mapping job, not a retyping job.

Part 7. Online donations through your own account

This part proves the money path. Donations settle directly into your organization's own Stripe account; the platform never holds your funds. Tell us how it went: [email protected].
7.1
Connect your Stripe account from your account payment settings. You should see: the connection confirmed.
7.2
Make a real test donation of a few dollars through your own donation page. Try the cover-the-fee checkbox. You should see: the charge succeeds, the deposit shows in your own Stripe dashboard, and the recorded gift reflects the fee cover.
7.3
Watch it arrive in Donor Management. You should see: the gift recorded automatically with its payment reference, attached to the right donor.
7.4
Scan the QR code. Generate the scan-to-give QR code and scan it with your phone. You should see: your donation page opens on the phone, ready to give in under a minute.

Part 8. When you need help

8.1
Ask the assistant. In the Ask box, ask: "How do I record a restricted gift?"You should see: a specific, cited answer that points to the right screen.
8.2
Open the Complete Guide at allinonenonprofit.com/guide.You should see: every app documented, with a How to use it section for each.
8.3
Open one app User Guide (each app links its own). You should see: click-paths for everything in this checklist, so your team can find them without you.
