About us

Built by someone who runs volunteer organizations

All In One Nonprofit is one place to run, govern and grow a nonprofit. Here is who builds it, and why.

I came to nonprofit software from 47 years in aviation, thirty of them as an air traffic controller, first in the United States Army and then at Washington Center, one of the busiest air traffic control centers in the country. After that I tested and validated the systems the FAA uses to run the national airspace.

For nearly forty years I have also served the volunteer-run societies of postal history, as past president of the Pennsylvania Postal History Society and of the Mid-Atlantic Federation of Postal History Societies. As Volunteer Coordinator for Boston 2026, an international exhibition, I recruited and coordinated more than 500 volunteers.

Why I built it

I kept watching good organizations run their missions out of spreadsheets, inboxes and one person's memory. When that one person moves on, the organization loses its records, its deadlines and its history at the same time. I have served on nonprofit boards for years, and on three of them I was also the webmaster and the person everyone called when the tools were too technical.

Air traffic control runs on a different rule: nothing important can depend on one person remembering it. Every clearance is written down, every handoff is checked, and every claim needs evidence. All In One Nonprofit is built on the same habits, so a board, a treasurer or a new volunteer can pick up exactly where the last person left off.

What that means for your organization

The company

All In One Nonprofit is the trade name of A Step Ahead Media, LLC, a Florida company. It is built for organizations rich in purpose and short on staff: churches, food-rescue charities, professional societies, youth clubs and every kind of community nonprofit in between.

If you would like to talk about whether it fits your organization, I take those calls myself.
