Accepting Online Donations

Let supporters give online, and have every gift recorded, receipted, and acknowledged for you automatically. The money goes straight to your organization. All In One Nonprofit never holds your funds and charges no platform fee.

How it works, end to end

Once you connect a payment account and share your donation link, the whole cycle runs on its own:

💸
A donor gives. They open your donation link, enter an amount, and pay on a secure Stripe checkout page. The money lands in your organization's own account.
✉️
The donor is thanked instantly. An automatic thank-you and receipt go out within seconds, so no one has to remember.
📢
Your team is notified. A "new donation received" email goes to whoever you designate (your treasurer or finance contact).
📊
The gift is recorded in your CRM. Next time you open Donor Management, the donor is matched (or created), the gift is logged with the amount and the appeal it came from, and your giving totals update.

Setting it up

Setup lives on your Organization Settings page, under "Online donations."

1

Connect your Stripe account

Click Connect Stripe and follow the prompts. Donations are processed by Stripe, a trusted payment provider, and settle directly into your nonprofit's own Stripe account. All In One Nonprofit only orchestrates the charge and never touches or holds the money.
Using your parent organization's EIN? If you operate under a fiscal sponsor or a parent entity, you can connect Stripe under that entity's EIN and add a "doing business as" (DBA) name so receipts and statements show your organization. Stripe may briefly review new accounts before they can accept live payments.
2

Set your notification email

Enter the address that should hear about each donation, usually your treasurer or finance committee. You can change it anytime.
3

Share your donation link

Saving your settings generates a public link like app.allinonenonprofit.com/give/…. Copy it and put it anywhere donors can give: in emails, on your website, in a newsletter, or on social media. The link is safe to share publicly; it only lets people donate, nothing else.

What your donors see

A clean, mobile-friendly page with your organization's name, an amount field, and optional name and email for their receipt. They pay on Stripe's secure checkout, then land on a thank-you confirmation. No account or sign-in required.

The money & the fees

Receipts & taxes

Each donor automatically receives a thank-you with the gift amount and date. For formal tax-acknowledgment purposes, online gifts arrive in Donor Management marked unacknowledged, so they still flow through your normal Tax Acknowledgments workflow, so nothing is skipped.

Donations vs. membership dues. Charitable donations are generally tax-deductible; membership dues that come with benefits may be only partly deductible (the "quid pro quo" rule). This guide covers donations. Consult your accountant for receipt wording, and treat this as general information, not tax advice.

Test it first

Before you publish your link, you can run a practice donation in test mode using Stripe's test cards (no real money moves) to watch the thank-you, the notification, and the CRM record all happen. Your administrator will let you know when test mode is available.

Common questions

Do donors need an All In One Nonprofit account?

No. The donation page is public; anyone with the link can give.

What if a donor is already in my CRM?

They're matched by email, and the gift is added to their existing record. If they're new, a record is created and tagged "Online Donor."

Can I still record cash and check gifts?

Yes. Enter those in Donor Management as you always have. Online giving is an addition, not a replacement.

Will a donation send the thank-you twice?

No. The instant thank-you is the donor courtesy/receipt; your formal tax acknowledgment is a separate, deliberate step you control.
